Topic: Virtual DJ Compatible With MacBook Update
I am running virtual DJ Pro Infinity with MacBook OS Ventura 13.5.02

There is an upgrade and new OS Called Sonoma 14.0. Is this compatible with what I currently have for Virtual DJ.

Did anyone update to Sonoma 14.0 and have any issues?

Thanks

I have Mac OS 14 Sonoma and the pads don't work at all. Any advice would be great!

If you didn't update yourMac please wait.
Stems don't work, the pads are off. And even in some setting when you play without a controller the active song volume just goes to 0 when you load a new song. So my advice would be to wait.

Hope VirtualDJ comes with an update soon!!

There are no known issues with stems related to macOS 14, so you may have a different problem.

I have no idea what is going on. I tried to contact support from Virtual DJ. Only got a random answer that I should check compatibility with Mac OS. My stems problems all started after the software update. I didn't do any setup changes. It's very weird. hope the update comes soon. so I can check if these things resolve.

Iā€˜m using a Macbook Pro with M2 Max and updated to Sonoma. As controller iā€˜m using a DDJ-1000 tested a bit last week with no problems at all.

Last Saturday I had the first Live gig and played around 7 hours without any issues. Everything is working normal so far.

I have the Mac M2 Pro Max Running latest Firmware all was well until my gig video failed it got super slow and sluggish.

I run karaoke so the show got cancelled first time in 16 years.

A factory reset on Job site did nothing.

Activity monitor has left no leads as nothing is actually struggling or working hard.

I'm going to see if I can get a new Mac tomorrow for work at this point. I'm booked all week

Running the Macbook Pro with the new M2 max pro chip and updated to sonoma (v14.0) and noticed VDJ also did an update (v2023-m b7692) and VDJ works good except now I can no longer connect to my Denon Prime Go (haven't had any issues until either sonoma upgrade or the VDJ upgrade... don't know which one broke it)

I created a forum post on enginedj for the prime go and they said I should mention it here.

Anyone else use Denon DJ Prime and have any issues?

Well they did the update for sonoma. The stems problem I had wasn't related to the Mac OS Sonoma but was related to the new regulations with TIDAL. They don't allow stems being used so VDJ had to turn them off. (((

Anyone running the new macOS Sonoma an update was released Thursday night to Sonoma 14.1

My external drives are not encrypted, but, mine kept getting corrupted after unmounting them. They would then not mount without repairs. This has been driving me nuts over the last few weeks. I thought my WD Passports had gone faulty as they are a few years old, not so, there's nothing wrong with them. I bought a new Crucial X9 Pro SSD because of it which will be my main external drive from now on. When my SSD started showing the same behaviour this week I then realised it was Sonoma at fault. Thankfully, Apple released an update to Sonoma 14.1 on Thursday night which fixed them. I now have 2 backup drives, oh well.šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø šŸ˜Š

I'm running an M1 Max with Roland DJ-707m ... just upgraded to Sonoma. Everything seems to be working well so far.

As I have reported in another thread;

I have been having a bit of a nightmare with my trusted WD Passport HDs, they were getting corrupted everytime I dis-connected them from Sonoma. I then bought a 2tb Crucial X9 SSD external drive which came pre-formatted for ExFat so interchangeable between macOS & Windows. I still had problems of corruption and being unable to 'mount' the SSD. Eventually I had to 'bite the bullet' and reformatted the SSD to Apple's APFS filing system. The SSD is more responsive and much faster with Apples native formatting and it mounts instantly.

So, it appears that Sonoma works much better with external drives formatted to Apple's native APFS.šŸ˜Š
