Topic: The DJM-A9 cannot be controlled by VDJ!?
Hello,

When I use VirtualDJ with the DJM-A9, the connection is ok and the sound works.

The DJM-A9 controls VDJ well (you move a knob on the DJM and you have the equivalent in VDJ)

On the other hand, when, from VirtualDJ, I lower or raise a volume, a bass, treble setting..., it does nothing on the djm-A9!
The sound doesn't move!

And therefore, it's the same with VDJ remote: impossible to control the sound of VirtualDJ on the DJM-A9!

So, the DJM-A9 controls VDJ well,
but VirtualDJ, apparently, cannot control the DJM-A9!

Is there a setting I forgot?

If anyone has a solution, thanks in advance.

Otherwise, maybe in a new update?

PS: version early access 7805 on windows11

The DJM-A9 is a real hardware mixer, apples its own Equalizer, volume, Gain, Effects etc to the sound. No software can "control" what the mixer itself is doing.
But same as other similar devices, it also sends MIDI messages when a knob/fader is moved and those are mapped in VirtualDJ, so that you have an idea on your screen about what the mixer is doing. This is called "fake mixer" mode and it's enabled in the ONINIT key of the device. Also when this mode is enabled, the Mixer of VirtualDJ is actually doing nothing (disabled), just showing the status of your mixer, that is why the Mixer of VirtualDJ is not applying anything when adjusted from the skin.

Thank you DJDAD for this response.

"No software can "control" what the mixer itself is doing."

How does Pioneer do it with the Stagehand app for IOS?

Not familiar with the app, but it looks like you can't use it to change anything on the mixer, you can only look at what the faders are set to, but not modify them.

Seems like it's for adjusting "utility settings".
